| Each April, people who live and love
hoof-power descend on the small Cascade town of Sisters, Oregon, for the
annual Small Farmers' journal Horse-Drawn Auction & Swap Meet. It's a
sale, for sure, but so much more: It has the feeling of a giant family
reunion, bringing together farmers, ranchers, collectors, hobbyists, and
city romanticists. Every possible kind of cart, wagon, or farm implement
past or present goes through 3 days of auction, plus harness, saddles,
tack, tools, art, and collectibles galore.
