"Jerry Tindell Talks About..." series
In this series of videos by "Video Mike" Kerson, Jerry
works with horses, mules, and ordinary folks at some of his clinics -
teaching them how to develop safe, willing equine partners.
These videos have been carefully planned to keep the
viewer's attention, and to provide information in a way that viewers can
actually use. These are not just "Look What I Can Do!" videos, where an
expert shows off his skills but may not actually teach the viewer what
to do at home with his/her own animal. Actual clinic participants, in
their process of learning to become effective horse and mule handlers,
work through a variety of situations, with Jerry's expert direction.
The music, by former "Sons of the Pioneers"
singer/songwriter/musician Rusty Richards and
singer/songwriter/performer
Dave Stamey,
combined with beautiful photography, make these films a feast for the
senses as well as the mind.

Use Round Pen techniques to build a
True Connection
between you and your horse or mule
Round Penning makes use of the natural "hard-wiring"
of the equine mind to look for a leader, and to accept the leadership of
the one who can move his/her feet.
All handling & riding skills begin in the round pen.
Directing movement, pace, gaits, turns, stops, flexing, etc., can all be
started in the round pen, with the horse at liberty (no halter).
Round Pen techniques are used by most wild horse
gentlers. The very same techniques are also widely used by trainers of
domestic stock, and they will work with YOUR horse or mule. This is the
foundation for most "Natural Horsemanship"-type training. |
